We have specific know-how on Microemulsions at room temperature and on Solid Lipid Nanoparticles (SLN) obtained from warm microemulsions, as by our own original method (first patented for SLN): we believe in safe approach of our carriers which mimic nature somehow.
A Story of Research
Nanovector has been partner in many projects granted by European Commission or by Italian authorities. Projects aimed at very different targets and lead us to extensive screening of our technical platform: we understood how to incorporate many different kind of drugs up to whole inorganic nanoparticles.
Our Projects
SolinTM showed to be smart carriers for delivery of drug into the eye: administered in form of eye drops they improve adsorption of loaded drug in eye tissues.
SolinTM help drug to reach retina at therapeutic concentration and that happen just after eye drops administration.
Our story
Our story starts in 2001 when we founded Nanovector, in time when discipline of Nanomedicine was just beginning to take its first steps.
The great inspiration was professor Maria Rosa Gasco who invented and patented in 1991 an original method for producing solid lipid nanoparticles by cooling of warm microemulsion. She was working with her team in University of Torino and was one of founder of Nanovector.
Maria Rosa filed her original patent few weeks before its colleague in Berlin, estimated Prof. RH Mueller, filed his own patent on method to obtain Solid lipid nanoparticles by high pressure homogenization: an incredible contemporary origin in Europe for this new drug delivery system.
Since then the SLN have been tested worldwide by many other groups and novel methods have been discovered.
